International students are required to


  • Request for Visa at Royal Thai Embassy (Choose the country )
  • hold non-immigration visa with education type (Non-ED) (see visa type changing )
  • report to the Immigration Bureau officer in-person every 90 days (See 90 Days Report )
  • monitor visa expiration date and extend the visa accordingly (See Visa Extension )
  • submit a request for Re-Entry Permit at Immigration Bureau before leaving Thailand
    (See Re-Entry Visa )
  • Submit documents at Ministry of Education for equivalent their high school degree to that in Thailand (see Education Equivalent )

Visa Type Changing


After admitted as student, international students who hold Tourist Visa must change the visa type to Non-Immigrant Visa with Education type(NON-ED).

  • Students must change the visa type at least 15 days prior to visa expiration date.
  • After changing the visa type, student will be permitted to stay in the Kingdom for 90 days.
  • After holding NON-ED visa for 3 months, student must extend the NON-ED visa to obtain one year staying permit.
  • Application Fees for changing visa type 2,000 baht.
  • Student from the listed countries is required to submit documents as follow
    1. A photocopy of house registration and ID card of residence owner.
    2. Original and a photocopy of residence contract with the last month rent’s receipt.
    3. Photo of your current resident.
    4. Original and a photocopy of high school certificate (Approved by your embassy).
    5. Original and a photocopy of No Criminal Conviction’s Certificate.
      • Issued by National Police Headquarters in your country.
      • Issued by Royal Thai Police Headquarters in English. (2-3 weeks)
    6. Original and a photocopy of Birth Certificate (Approved by your embassy)
    7. Original and a photocopy of Money Transfer Certificate of Tuition Fee from your home country in Dollars (Western Union or Financial Institutions).
    8. Original and a photocopy of Money Exchange Certificate from Dollars to Baht (Western Union or Financial Institutions).
    9. Original passbook issued by financial institution in Thailand, a photocopy of its first page, and Bank Account with balance of THB 15,000.
    10. Study Timetable and Certified letter.

    REMARK :

  1. The country list is subject to change, please contact Office of International Affairs for further information.
  2. All required documents must be prepared at least 15 days prior to visa expiration date.
  3. Lacking of any required documents, Immigration Bureau will not approve to change the visa type.
